Madeline Ballard, CNM

Madeline spent most of her childhood in Nolensville, Tennessee, where she grew up and- at one point- fully committed to life as a track star. She gave it a solid shot as an SEC athlete at the University of Tennessee before deciding that long jumping might not be her lifelong calling.

After that realization, she transferred to Samford University, where she finished her athletic career and graduated with honors in nursing. She then began her career as a labor and delivery nurse, quickly discovering she loved caring for women and their babies (and that this career path had much better longevity than long jump).

Eventually, Madeline made her way back home to Nashville, where she worked as an L&D nurse at Saint Thomas Midtown. It was there that she decided to take things a step further and become a midwife. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, graduating summa cum laude in 2025.

In her practice, Madeline is especially passionate about supporting people through pregnancy and delivery using physiologic birth principles and Spinning Babies® techniques.

Madeline lives in Smyrna, Tennessee, with her husband and daughter. When she’s not catching babies, she enjoys being outdoors, going to concerts, and keeping her trivia skills sharp with a nightly episode of Jeopardy!, where she is undefeated from the comfort of her own couch.
